“We want to meet Japanese fans soon”
CNBLUE released their first album on 21 May. They ranked first at some music charts. Here’s special interview with CNBLUE who were doing activity in Japan as indie band. They talked about their album, future and message to fans.
Q : Your first album “First Step” ranked first at some music charts!
JH : It’s unbelievable!
Q : In a week, you guys ranked first at some music program!
YH : We never thought it would be happen. Thank you so much for all who support us, our fans.
Q : What does “Intuition” song means?
YH : I think everyone has intuition to approach separation. This song somewhat has image like that.
Q : You can beat Wheesung “Words That Freeze My Heart” and K.Will “My Heart is Beating”, your song produced by Kim DoHun, isn’t it?
YH : It’s good song. He made song that match with our voice.
Q : On this album, is there any song that composed by yourself?
JH : Until now, we already composed many songs for our album. On this album, we included Japanese songs (arranged to Korea ver) plus 3 new songs. But, I and Yonghwa only wrote a little. I want to contribute more.
YH : “First Step” is our step forward as musician. We know, we still lack of experiences to be 100% band. But, we will do our best, progress slowly. While making this album, we became more interest to make more songs. Then we can express our music.
Q : All members has similar music character?
JH : I like ballad song, while Yonghwa likes up tempo song. As band, we listen all genre music, and then make one as our character.
Q: You guys have a lot activity in Japan, what’s your impression about Japan?
YH : I think all genre music are exist in Japan. I wonder whether we can do that music or not. Yeah I feel like that.
Q : Why did you decided to do activity as indies band in Japan?
YH : Japan in a place where many genre music are exist. We want to experiences performance here. We also want to learn a lot of things here. We already did 200 times small performance in Japan. We also did performance together with local indies band at club opening event. That was good memory for us. Recently memory in Japan also good, tightening our spirit. We will step on the stair step by step.
Q : What do you think about Japan earthquake?
YH : Actually, we were in Japan, some days before the earthquake happen. We watched news, and really shocked at that time. We prayed that Japan can recover soon, so we can meet Japanese fans.
Q : What’s your main point doing activity in Japan recently?
YH : Because we’re band, so we want to improve our music and performance skill. We will work hard to have scope, and give a little impact.
Q : What do you think about people who prejudice CNBLUE music by judging at your good looking?
YH : That’s still good, but we’re band. Now, we’re work hard to express our music. And we just debuted for 1 year. We still have many things to show you. I believe, if we work hard with our pride, we’ll get good result later. As for example, we want to be like Rolling Stone, long life band.
Q : After First Step promotion ended, where we can find you guys?
YH : I and Minhyuk will appeared on MBC drama “Heartstrings”. It’s drama that setting in an art university. I casted as Lee Shin, a cool city guy, haha. He doesn’t has sensibility except on music, cool guy.
MH : I did “You’re Beautiful” audition last time with Yonghwa but I failed. At that audition, they said that character suit with me, but it looks like too much out, haha. Now, I am learning a lot to show good performance as actor to all of you.
