[News] Lena Park and Jang Keun Suk appointed as ambassadors for Seoul’s Nuclear Safety Summit

Singer Lena Park and actor Jang Keun Suk have been appointed as the promotional ambassadors for the Nuclear Safety Summit (NSS) to be held in Seoul in March 2012. The NSS committee expressed on 4 Nov that they will officially appoint the ambassadors at the Foreign Affairs Ministry on 10 Nov.

During the preparation period for the NSS, Hallyu star JKS will participate in various promotional activities, and will actively promote the importance of nuclear safety to the young generation. He will also participate in the recording of the “Peace Song”.

Lena Park, having graduated from America’s Colombia University last year with a bachelor’s degree, speaks fluent English and has superb singing skill, thereby gaining the unanimous vote of the committee. At the graduation ceremony, she sang America’s national anthem solo as the student representative, and as the NSS promotional ambassador, she will use Korean and English to sing the NSS “Peace Song” specially produced for Seoul’s Nuclear Safety Summit.

The committee expressed that the image of both ambassadors fulfill the ultimate goal of the NSS – a peaceful and safe future, hence they have decided to appoint the two as ambassadors and hope that both will be more effective in the widespread promotion of the NSS.

[news & Pict] Stars Turn Out for the VIP Premiere of "You're My Pet"

On the evening of November 2, the VIP premiere of "You're My Pet" was held at the Lotte Cinema in Jayang-dong, Seoul. 

A variety of top stars attended this premiere to support and cheer for their fellow actresses and actors in this film including: Yoo Seung Ho, SS501's Kim Hyung Jun, After School's Jung Ah, Park Shin Hye, Jang Hyuk, Choi Ji Woo, Choi Kang Hee, Kang Ye Won, Kim Seung Woo, Hong Soo Ah, Go Na Eun and more. The film's leads, Jang Geun Suk and Kim Ha Neul looked very happy and excited for this grand event.

"You're My Pet" is based on a Japanese manga and is about Ji Eun (played by Kim Ha Neul), a woman who has everything in terms of power and beauty but lacks social skills and In Ho (played by Jang Geun Suk), a younger man who was always popular with the ladies in the past. In Ho becomes Ji Eun's "pet" and the story unravels as they get to know each other and build their relationship. 

"You're My Pet" will open in theaters on November 10.

Korean Men's Association Petitions Against Film "You're My Pet"

The Korean Men's Association has filed a petition for an injunction against the film, "You're My Pet."

The Korean Men's Association posted a link on their homepage to a legal petition that will force "You're My Pet" to cease from playing in theaters. They voiced that the film is degrading to men and the concept of a female "owner" and a male "dog" is sexist and inhumane. They also emphasize their point by asking how people would react if the role was reversed and it was a male owner and a female dog. They ended the note by saying that these kinds of concepts should not be treaded upon, even if it is for entertainment. 

"You're My Pet" is expected to hit theaters on November 10 and the VIP premiere was held on November 1. You can read more about the synopsis here. 

Sources from the film addressed this matter by saying, "We haven't fully looked into this as of right now. After a thorough investigation, we will search for a countermeasuring plan."

Actor Jang Geun Suk mempost kata2 peringatan untuk  sasaeng fans (cinta fans yang menggila pada selebritis tertentu yang cukup untuk meyerang privasi  lebih jauh dari menguntit).

Sekitar jam 11 pagi pada 30 Oktober, Jang Geun Suk mentweet sebuah peringatan pada fans sasaengnya, dia mengatakan,   “kalian sasaeng fans, kalian mungkin berbisik menipu kalau kalian tau setiap pergerakan saya mengikuti saya. [News] Park Shin Hye selected as judge for the 13th Puchon International Student Festival

Actress Park Shin Hye is selected as one of the seven judges for the 13th Puchon International Student Animation Festival (PISAF).

Held annually, PISAF is a student -oriented animation festival and its concept originated in an idea for joint exhibition of graduation works of Korean animation majors. PISAF features a student's competition section which inspires their creativity, imagination and passion. In addition, PISAF invites students and indie directors from home and abroad and helps branding of their talents through exhibition, workshop and screening.

For this year's PISAF, seven 'online judges' are selected to judge the animation entries from students. The judging panel is led by American animation director John Musker who created Walt Disney's celebrated animation 'The Little Mermaid' (1989). Actress Park Shin Hye and 5 other professionals are also on the panel.

PISAF will open for 5 days starting November 4 2011. Korean animation film 'Green Days' (2011), which stars Shin Hye as one of the voice dubbers, will be played on November 6 and 8 at the festival.  Besides, an educational event called 'Green Days Master Class' will also be held on November 6 at 1-2pm.

Hongki MC on Seoul - Tokyo Music Festival 2011 with Seungri,Gyuri and Hara

The event’s official site has just been updated and they have announced that Seungri will be one of the festival’s MCs, along with FT ISland’s Hongki and KARA’s Gyuri and Hara.

[news] B1A4 Joins Jang Geun Suk’s Agency in Japan

Rookie group B1A4 signed a contract with Jang Geun Suk’s Japanese agency, making their venture into Japan official. 

“B1A4 signed a contract with Pony Canyon, one of the largest Japanese agencies, and will hold its debut showcase on Dec. 9 in Japan,” B1A4 and Pony Canyon said in a statement.

Pony Canyon is a subsidiary of Japan’s giant media company, Fuji Sankei Communication Group, and has some of the best Japanese celebrities including w-inds, Aiko, Ueto Aya, and Jang Geun Suk under its wings.

“The decision to sign B1A4 was unprecedented in that they are a rookie group. However, despite being a rookie group, their high-quality music, polished choreography, and sophisticated fashion style make them one of the most promising Hallyu stars, so we decided to sign them. Jang Geun Suk too talked very highly of them,” Pony Canyon said in a statement.

B1A4 will hold their first Japanese performance on Dec. 9 in Tokyo under the title, “B1A4-Japan Showcase Live 2011.” In January, they will also release their first licensed CD, combining the tracks from their first two mini albums in Korea.

Jang Geun Suk’s associate recently revealed that a documentary following the actor’s schedule is planned to be broadcast early next year on KBS. The documentary will show Jang Geun Suk’s daily routine, as well as the busy actor’s activities in Japan, Korea, and even England. (News) Sekitar 7000 Fans Memadati Konser Mini Live Debut CN BLUE di Jepang!

Pada 19 Oktober, CN BLUE merilis single debut utama mereka   “In My Head” dan untuk merayakan debut, mereka memutuskan untuk perform dalam sebuah  mini-live (guerilla concert) di depan Alta di Shinjuku, Tokyo jam  3:45 pm waktu lokal.
Namun, lokasi dan waktu mini live tidak diungkapkan lebih awal, tapi meskipun begitu, tempat untuk mini-live diisi dengan sekitar 7,000 fans, termasuk pejalan kaki dekat Alta bahkan sebelum konser dimulai. Fans menyerbu untuk menemukan tempat berdasarkan pada komentar2 yang tertulis mengenai lokasi.
Orang  berkumpul di depan Shinjuku Alta sebelum 3:45 PM, saat mini live seharusnya dimulai, dengan sebuah rasa tegang dan penuh semangat menunggu untuk tibanya member2.
Fans mulai menemukan tempat bersama sepertu yang dibagi dari beberapa fans di twitter dengan  updatean stabil. Lebih dan lebih banyak orang mulai pergi ke  Alta Shinjuku dan orang dari seluruh area bergabung di dalamnya juga.
Member2 secara tiba2 muncul di depan keramaian dan berteriak “Kalian pastinya menunggu sangat lama!!”  dan mereka mulai mini live dengan single debut mereka  “In My Head”. Fans pun menaruhkan tangan mereka bersama sepanjang lagu dan situasi seketika memanas.

Namun situasi menjadi memburuk dengan penonton yang mulai terdorong, sehingga polisi memutuskan untuk memberhentikan mini live untuk keselamatan semua fans di konser. Mini live berakhir hanya dengan 1 lagu karena alasan2 keamanan.
Member2 mengatakan sebelum pergi, ” kami minta maaf tapi keselamatan kalian adalah hal yang paling penting! Kita akan bertemu kalian di event perilisan pada hari sabtu dan Minggu!!”  Saat mereka mengatakan itu, mereka pergi meninggalkan panggung dan di waktu bersamaan meninggalkan sebuah  pengaruh kuat pada debut utama mereka di Jepang.

Jang Geun Suk releases official smartphone application

On October 19th, Hallyu star Jang Geun Suk released his official smartphone application!

Co-produced by NHN, the application comes in both a free and charge version with a total of four language options available (Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean). The free version, ‘Jang Keunsuk Lite‘, features photos, videos, profiles, news, and his Naver Japan fancafe community.

Those who purchase the original application will be able to receive updates on his daily schedule in addition to gaining access to a special ‘Jang Geun Suk’s Message’ service, where fans are able to post and receive messages from the star.

Jang Geun Suk congratulates Best Actress Kim Ha-neul

Kim Ha-neul, who was awarded Best Actress, is thanking Jang Geun-seok.

Jang Geun-seok congratulated Kim Ha-neul on stage for the first Best Actress Award she ever received.

She won this award at the 48th Daejong Award Film Festival for her movie "Blind". This is her first big award since her debut in 1998 with the movie "Bye June".

Jang Geun-seok's appearance was a surprise for everybody. Getting up on stage to hand her some flowers, when MC Lee Deok-hwa asked him what he was doing here, he answered, "I ran over as soon as school finished". The two co-acted in "You Pet".

Kim Ha-neul cried her eyes out at the awards and said, "I thought acting was very hard and thought about quitting but I thgouth over time, it was something I could look for myself in and love myself".

Actor Jang Geun Suk made a surprise appearance on the stage of the Daejong Film Festival during Kim Ha Neul's acceptance speech for the Best Actress award.

On October 17, the 48th Daejong Film Festival was held at the Sejong Performing Arts Center. While Kim Ha Neul was tearfully accepting her award for Best Actress, Jang Geun Suk went up on stage and gave her a bouquet of flowers.

Along with the flowers, he said with a big smile, "When I heard that nuna (what younger guys call older girls) was a nominee, as soon as school ended, I bought some flowers and came right away." He also gave a comical proclamation, advertising his new movie by saying, "Please stay tuned for nuna's and my new movie 'You're My Pet' coming soon!"

On this day, during her acceptance speech, Kim Ha Neul shed a flood of tears, saying, "I don't know what to say - I'm so nervous."

She continued to say, "Acting was so hard and difficult and I always thought that I should quit. But as time went by, I realized that this may be a time to find out who I am and starting from some point, I truly came to love what I'm doing. Thank you so much for allowing me to stand here at such an honorable place."

In her debut thriller, "Blind," Kim Ha Neul plays the role of a blind woman for the first time and received the highest of praises. People commented that this movie was a "resdiscovery for Kim Ha Neul" and the movie enjoyed great success.

Tiket2 Untuk Tur Jepang Jang Geun Suk Terjual Habis Dalam 5 Menit!

Telah diumumkan sebelumnya kalau Jang geun Suk akan menggelar tur Jepang dalam 2 bulan mendatang, dengan biaya produksi melebihi  $3.5 milyar won. Tiket2 intuk tur juga telah dijual baru2 ini dan dilaporkan kalau sekitar  60,000 telah terjual habis dalam 5 menit!


Jang Geunsuk meraih popularitas di Jepang yang membuat kira2  $38 milyar  won dengan aktivitas2 yang sedang berjalan. Kalender resmi Jang Geun Suk untuk tahun 2012 meraih posisi ketiga di sebuah chart penjualan kalender di website belanja Jepang selama bulan Agustus dan September berada di belakang AKB48, yang meraih posisi teratas dan  KARA, yang ada di posisi keduak.

Jang Geun Suk Mengejutkan Kim Ha Neul Dengan Membawa Bunga!

Actor Jang Geun suk membuat sebuah penampilan kejutan di panggung  Grand Bell Awards untuk memberikan selamat pada  Kim Ha Neul.

Saat Kim Ha Neul dijuluki Best Actress di 48th Grand Bell Awards di Sejong Cultural Center di Seoul dan melangkah keatas panggung, Jang Geun Suk muncul dengan bunga untuk Kim Ha Neul sebagai sebuah kejutan.

Jang Geun Suk mengatakan diatas panggung,  “Meskipun saya tidak diundang di Grand Bell Award, saya dengar Kim ha Neul di nominasikan untuk Best Actress jadi saya pergi ke sekolah lalu mampir untuk mendapatkan bunga2 kemudian datang padamu” yang menunjukkan persahabtan mereka.

Jang Geun Suk tidak lupa menggunakan memnt tersebut untuk mempromosikan film baru mereka bersama2 dengan menyatakan, “Mohon nantikan film bersama dengan Kim Ha Neul ‘You’re my pet’“.

Saat  Kim Ha neul membuat pidato kemenangan, Jang Geun Suk membuat sebuah moment yang hidup dan menyenangkan dengan membuat gerak tubuh padanya untuk menyebutkan dirinya dan membuat V ke kamera.

(News) Jang Geun Suk Tunjukkan Aegyonya Dengan Tiduran Di Pangkuan Kim Ha Neul

Pemain2 ‘You’re My Pet‘   Jang Geun Suk and Kim Ha Neul menjadi bintang tamu pada 15 Oktober di episode KBS‘s ‘Entertainment Relay‘ dan menampilkan beberapa aegyo menggemaskan untuk kamera.

Keduanya saat ini menantikan untuk perilisan film mereka bulan depan, dimana Kim Ha Neul memainkan peran dari pemilik “binatang peliharaan” ’ Jang Geun Suk. Saat bekerjasama dengannya, Kim Ha Neul memuji, “Jang Geun Suk mungkin muda, tapi saya rasa ada banyak yang dipelajari darinya. ”

Dengan cepat masuk kedalam karakter peliharaannya, Jang Geun Suk berlutut di depannya dan menempatkan kepalanya di pangkuannya.  Sudah menggunakan aegyonya, Kim Ha Neul  dengan acuh tak asuh mulai “mengelus2″ kepalanya.

Harmonis mereka tidak berakhir karena Jang Geun Suk kemudian mengungkapkan kalau dia  “telah telah menunjukkan tekad yang kuat dalam adegan2 yang melibatkan skinship dan  exposure,” yang meninggalkan snagat terkejut bagi  Kim Ha Neul.
